Education and Training

Cadet Programs

To accomplish its missions, CAP requires an informed senior membership trained in leadership, management, and functional tasks. The CAP Senior Member Education and Training Program trains members in these skills and prepares them to serve their units, their communities, and their nation.

Wondering how to get started with Volunteer University? Heard about "cohorts", but not sure what that means?

Attached on the right are from Colonel Regina Aye, the leader of the new Education and Training Program.

Several Education and Training courses are available on-line and information can be found at the following web site address:

As many members are aware the SLS course is now available on-line! Online courses in professional development are open to all eligible candidates who would not otherwise be able to attend in residence.  Please note that the primary method of completing professional development courses is in residence and the online option is primarily for those who cannot attend in residence.

There are many materials available from the Best Practices web site for Education and Training including many tracking grids for achieving the various levels of professional Development.  The link for the best practices web site is available through the below link:

We encourage the members of CAP to participate in professional development as part of your growth to be a better CAP member. The training you receive and the camaraderie you will develop with other CAP members will benefit your community, squadron, wing and yourself as a CAP officer.
