Education and Training
To accomplish its missions, the Civil Air Patrol requires an informed senior membership trained in leadership, management, and functional tasks. The CAP Senior Member Education and Training Program trains members in these skills and prepares them to serve their Squadrons, Communities, States, and Nation.

Wondering how to get started with Volunteer University? Heard about "cohorts", but not sure what that means?
Attached on the right under “Related Links” are some documents from Brig. Gen Regina Aye, the former leader of the “new” Education and Training Program. They explain a great deal about the Cohorts system. Please note: there may be some changes to the cohort system since these documents were published.
Also, under Related Documents are some products to assist Education and Training Officers to brief, manage, and teach CAP members about the E&T program, as well as track ES Quals, Specialty Track task completion, and Senior Member promotions. Feel free to use these in your formations!
We highly encourage the members of Alabama Wing of CAP to participate in professional development as part of your growth to be better CAP members. The training you receive and the camaraderie you will develop with other CAP members will benefit your Community, Squadron, Wing, and yourself as a CAP officer/NCO.
If you have questions about anything related to the Education and Training program, or wish to be a part of the ALWG ET Team, please contact a member of the ALWG ET team and we will assist you in any way we can! We look forward to hearing from you!
