2026 Alabama Wing Summer Encampment
30 May – 6 June 2026 Marion Military Institute – Marion, Alabama Capt Rachel Johnson, Encampment Commander C/Lt Col Lindsay Robichaux, Encampment Cadet Commander
The Alabama Wing Summer Encampment is a foundational Civil Air Patrol experience designed to develop leadership, discipline, aerospace knowledge, and teamwork. Encampment is required for cadets seeking the General Billy Mitchell Award and is a prerequisite for many advanced CAP opportunities.

First-Time Cadet Students
Dates: 30 May – 6 June 2026 Location: Marion Military Institute, Marion, AL Cost: $375 Early Arrival Fee: $60
Cadets are housed in two-person dorm rooms with shared dormitory bathrooms featuring individual shower stalls.
Meals are provided by the institute’s award-winning dining facility and can accommodate special dietary needs and allergy restrictions.

At this time, there is no Advanced Training Squadron (ATS) option.

Cadre Selection Options
Option 1 (Preferred): Attend the Alabama Wing Encampment Cadre Selection Weekend 20–22 March at Maxwell Air Force Base
Registration for Cadre Selection Weekend closes March 8th.

All personnel entering Maxwell AFB for Cadre Selection Weekend, including drivers and passengers in vehicles, must complete the base access form: https://forms.office.com/r/1XPwPyPevs
Cadets flying in for selection weekend must complete the travel form: https://forms.office.com/r/SAsmZSC1pq
Option 2: Cadets unable to attend Cadre Selection Weekend may still submit the application form and will be considered following the selection event.
Cadre Cost:
· $340 standard rate
· $300 discounted rate for cadets selected at Cadre Selection Weekend

There is no cost for senior members to attend encampment. Senior members are also invited to attend Cadre Selection Weekend at no cost (registration in Registration Zone is still required).
