Do you wish to become a sUAS technician or mission pilot?
If you are under 16 years old, you can get all of these tasks signed off and become a technician.
CAP courses taken in eServices through your AXIS portal in eServices:
CAPT 116 GES
CAPT 117 ES
ICUT
These FEMA courses are required for the Technician and Mission Pilot ratings:
IS3 Radiological Emergency Management
IS5.a An Introduction to Hazardous Materials
IS100 Introduction to the Incident Command System
IS200 Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response
IS700 An Introduction to the National Incident Management System
IS800 National Response Framework, an Introduction

Once you pass the FAA part 107 test, you can work on becoming a mission pilot.
UAS Technician and Mission Pilot Courses can be completed at NESA, NSSE, or by a SET.
Steps to follow for a UAS Technician:
1) GES
2) Tasks listed on the first page of UAS Technician worksheet
3) unit commander approval for basic prerequisites
------at this point, you are qualified as a Basic Technician------
------to continue with the Advanced Training, next to complete:
4) FEMA courses
5) ICUT and CAPT 117 ES exam part 2 found here through your AXIS portal in eServices:
6) Tasks listed on the second page of UAS Technician worksheet
7) unit commander approval for advance prerequisites
8) Five training exercises that will be administered can be completed at NESA, NSSE, SET, or by a UAS check pilot
------ These tasks will be signed off by an evaluator and sent to the Wing DOU.
Steps to follow for a UAS Mission Pilot:
1) GES, CAPF5U, FAA part 107 - Remote Pilot Certification
2) Pilot in Command - 4 hours minimum
3) Tasks listed on the first page of UAS Mission Pilot worksheet
4) unit commander approval for basic prerequisites
------at this point, you are qualified as a Basic Mission Pilot------
------to continue with the Advanced Training, next to complete:
5) FEMA courses
6) ICUT and CAPT 117 ES exam part 2 found here through your AXIS portal in eServices:
7) Tasks listed on the second page of UAS Mission Pilot worksheet
8) unit commander approval for advance prerequisites
9) Five training exercises that will be administered can be completed at NESA, NSSE, SET, or by a UAS check pilot
10) Pilot in Command - 7.5 hours minimum
11) CAPF91U check ride
